Shikabari (シカバリ) is an anime series mentioned in episode 1, “Minoa, Anime Rookie!”, by Arisu Kamiigusa as something she has high hopes for. It is also mentioned and shown in episode 5, "Beibei, Don't Go". Kai wants to buy Shikabari merchandise, which means that he is also a fan of the show. It is also shown as what appears to be some box offered for free by someone at the convention. It is also mentioned in episode 12, "Minoa, Katharsis".

“Shikabari” is a wordplay on two actual anime titles, Shirobako (“White Box”) and Kabaneri (of the Iron Fortress), as well as on words “shika” (鹿), meaning “deer”, and “shibari” (縛り), meaning “binding”. The innocent Minoa Asagaya imagines a deer head when she hears the title, but the word “shika” is commonly used in Japan to mean “sexy”, and “shibari” often refers to a BDSM bondage technique.
